Olliers shortlisted for LexisNexis Legal Award

Written 24th January 2023 by Olliers Solicitors

Some fantastic news to start the year – Olliers has been shortlisted for an Award at the prestigious LexisNexis Legal Awards 2023 in the wellbeing category. The awards were launched in 2013 to recognise and celebrate excellence and innovation across the legal sector. They have attracted an increasing number of high calibre entrants each year and, as a national awards, the event celebrates the industry’s leading talent from across the UK. At Olliers we are extremely proud of our wellness strategy. Our Head of Wellness, David Abbott, is responsible for promoting a general culture of wellness.  Over the last 18 months, he has organised a series of wellness events to give the team some vital time ‘away from the law’. The majority of these take place in working hours with some events at the weekends. We try to ensure a mix of events to cater for all ages and interests to include hiking, the arts, sporting activities, gardening and much more. Many of the activities that take place in school holidays involve family members, as do the weekend sessions. We have also specifically organised events to cater to different demographics within the workforce who may have different needs, for example, mobility issues. Recent events have included hikes, water sports trips and visits to museums and exhibitions, such as Van Gogh Alive. These initiatives ensure that the firm retains a well-trained, well-rounded and motivated team which is equipped to deal with the challenging environment of criminal law. David Abbott, Head of Wellness, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted Olliers have been shortlisted for an award. The wellbeing of our team is so important to us as a firm and an area we continue to prioritise.” Winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony taking place in March at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, located on Park Lane, London.
