Olliers shortlisted for Manchester Legal Awards 2023

We are delighted to announce Olliers has been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Manchester Legal Awards – Crime Team of the Year and Director Ruth Peters has been shortlisted for Partner of the Year. Run by Manchester Law Society, the awards celebrate the city’s brightest legal talent. Finalists are determined by a panel of highly successful and well respected individuals from the business, legal and academic community across the North West. Judging will take place on 12 May, with the winners announced at a glitzy ceremony at The Midland Hotel on 8 June 2023.

Crime Team of the Year shortlisting

Olliers have won the Crime Team of the Year Award on five occasions during recent years, most recently in 2021. Matthew Claughton, Managing Director, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted again for 2023. Manchester is renowned for its legal talent and it’s fantastic to come together and celebrate this. Olliers has had an extremely successful twelve months as a result of the hard work and dedication of our amazing team.”

Partner of the Year shortlisting for Ruth Peters

Ruth won the Solicitor of the Year Award in 2021 at the Manchester Legal Awards and has now been shortlisted for Partner of the Year. Ruth leads the business development team at Olliers across all areas of specialism having been with the firm for more than 18 years.  Ruth is known for her calm, approachable, down to earth and reassuring manner.  She understands that for many clients this is the most difficult period of their life and seeks to handle their cases with the upmost sensitivity and understanding. Clients are able to rely on Ruth and trust her to get them through the most difficult period of their lives. Ruth commented: “I’m so pleased to be shortlisted for this Award. I can’t wait for the 8^th June and am sure it will be a fantastic evening!”

In 2022 Olliers won ‘Small Law firm of the Year’ at the Awards. In 2021 the firm won four awards at the Manchester Legal Awards: Crime Team of the Year, Small Firm, Managing Director Matthew Claughton won Partner of the Year and fellow Director Ruth Peters won Solicitor of the Year.
